Inanna (/ɪˈnɑːnə/; Sumerian: 𒀭𒈹 inanna) was the ancient Sumerian goddess of love, beauty, sex, desire, fertility, war, combat, justice, and political power. She was later worshipped by the Akkadians, Babylonians, and Assyrians under the name Ishtar (/ˈɪʃtɑːr/; ištar).
